The Library of Babel

: Print publication design/ Book making

contents

Redesigned the book "The Library of Babel" written by Jorge Luis Borges in 1941. The challenge was to design and create the key artifacts (ephemera) which can define the fictional world from the story and to practice the layout and overall structure of the book.

The design focus was inspired by18th to early19th century math/science books (especially "Principia Mathematica" first edition written in 1987) and encyclopedia layout style, which can display a formal and clear overall structure that can go along with the story.
